Continuing the tradition of offering aid to charities, organisations and individuals in need, Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS), an agency under the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, and also the leaders of the franchise industry, today organised the PNS Charity Golf Tournament at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club. The PNS Charity Golf Tournament is organised to raise funds in order to carry out charity activities for those in need. It also happens to be part of the initiative of PNS’s Corporate Social Responsibility towards the community. The Charity Tournament was also graced by Yang Amat Berbahagia Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor, who is the Patron of the charity program, and made the Launching Ceremony of the Charity Golf Tournament a success. The ceremony was also attended by the Chairman of PNS YBhg Datuk Idris Hashim, Managing Director Tuan Haji Syed Kamarulzaman b Dato’ Syed Zainol Khodki Shahabudin as well as senior managament members of PNS. As many as 120 players who came individually or represented corporate organisations attended the charity golf tournament. Among those involved were the Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism, agencies under KPDNKK, franchisors, franchise entrepreneurs, financial institutions and private companies. Through this tournament a total of RM150, 000 was successfully raised, and these funds will be channelled to organisations and individuals who are in need. During YABhg Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor’s speech, she said ”The initiative of PNS in organising this Charity Golf Tournament shows that many corporate organisations are aware of performing their corporate social responsibility. Corporate organisations should consider their corporate social responsibility as a chance to grow, and not as a burden. ” She added further. ”Many societies out there are less fortunate and still live difficult lives. With the existence of a charity program such as this, it will help those in need to continue their lives. Charity programs such as this can also build close ties and bridge the gap between corporate individuals and the less fortunate. Thank you to all organisations and philantropists who have contributed to this Charity Golf Tournament fund.” |
