29 JULY 2010 - BERNAMA KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) expects Franchise International Malaysia (FIM 2010) to generate a 10 per cent increase or RM30 million in sales to RM370 million this year. Last year, it netted RM340 million. Sixty-eight local and international franchisors, including from Singapore, Macau and Indonesia, are to participate in this year's three-day event at the Putra World Trade Centre beginning tomorrow, said MFA Vice-President Abd Malik Abdullah during the event sneak preview. A total of 110 display booths have been taken up, 10 booths by franchisees from various sectors including cosmetics, medical, retail, laundry, food and services industry. Seventy per cent of the participants are local franchisors, he said. The exhibition is expected to attract over 10,000 visitors as more attractive activities like product demonstrations and free workshops will be held. Last year, about 7,900 people visited the exhibition. Over 2,000 vacancies in the franchise industry and walk-in job interviews will be held during the career day at the three-day event. -- BERNAMA >>Back |
