KUALA LUMPUR: Focus Point Holdings Bhd is eyeing the Indonesian and Singaporean market, after successfully opening an outlet in Brunei. Its president and chief executive officer Datuk C.L. Liaw said the company is also looking at increasing its market share here by as much as they can this year, from the current 10 per cent it has. "We are participating in a fair this year in Indonesia as we hope to expand there soon," Liaw told reporters after the company's annual general meeting here yesterday. He said the company is on the look out to expand its franchisee business and is looking for suitable people to be a part of this venture. | "At present we have 83 franchised outlets nationwide and we are looking for more people to join in the business, but not just anyone but people with qualifications and special skills like an optician, for instance," he said, adding that the franchise fees is capped at RM30,000 for five years. Liaw is also confident that the company will record a higher growth this year but did not give details on the projection. "Our first quarter results have been very encouraging as we have recorded a net profit of RM1.2 million. Hence we are anticipating a sustained growth at both franchised outlets as well as our self-owned outlets. "Earlier this year, Focus Point signed a memorandum of collaboration with Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (PNS), laying out a collaborative action plan for both the company and PNS in developing and promoting Focus Point franchise programme among Bumiputera entrepreneurs," he said. Focus Point was listed in the ACE market August last year and recorded a net profit of RM6.2 million on the back of RM74.6 million revenue for the financial period ending December 31 2010.
