PNS CORRIDOR REGION OFFICE PROACTIVE

In response to the Government’s call to develop the national franchise industry towards a target of 50 franchisors and 1,000 franchisees, every Corridor Territory Office of Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS) has moved forward to take part in various expo events, seminars and carnivals at their respective corridor territory as a monthly activity. Most of the events PNS participated in are organised by various parties such as the The Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) and the agencies under it. They include joint activities between respective Corridor Councils such as NCER (North Corridor Territory), ECER (East Coast Corridor Territory), Iskandar Johor Territory (Johor Iskandar Territory), SEDIA (Sabah Development Corridor) and SCORE (Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy). This effort is seen as a mechanism to identify, assist and create franchise entrepreneurs more efficiently and effectively. Even though every Corridor Territory Office is manned by only three staff in the first phase, we did not see it as a stumbling block. Through sheer determination and team spirit, the efforts to guide and develop the national franchise industry managed to be done effectively. These monthly activities were always well supported, guided and monitored by the PNS management, particularly the Corridor Development Unit, at the PNS Headquarters. This is to ensure the image of PNS is always consistent with the vision and mission of PNS. It is hoped that with more franchise activities, it will shift the public’s paradigm towards our national franchise business, particularly the domestic and international markets. |
