PNS ESTABLISHES RAPPORT WITH LOCAL COMMUNITY Corporate Social Responsibility Activity (CSR) is a practice where corporate companies integrate organisational work ethics with social practices of the community. It will bring about a balanced corporate value in an organisation. This is the hope of Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS). Most recently, PNS has joined the Fiesta Jom Sihat (Lets Be Healthy Carnival) organised by the Parent Teacher Association of Tengku Ampuan Afzan Technical Secondary School (SMTTAF). During the course of the carnival, several CSR activities were carried out by PNS one of which was the social activity together with residents of Taman Sri Siantan, Bentong. The joyous occasion which took place at the housing area's surau was made more meaningful with the presence of Datuk Idris Hashim, Chairman of PNS and 14 artists. PNS contributed a cow for slaughter at the occasion, distributed ‘Zakat' to 16 orphans from Al-Ikhsan Orphanage, Bentong and also gave away contributions to four poor residents and 20 orphans from Tengku Ampuan Afzan Technical Secondary School.
In the evening more than 300 people from Taman Sri Siantan gathered for the slaughtering of the cow held after Isya' prayers. Datuk Isris Hashim also attended the occasion. He was very pleased with the response from the community and hoped that more CSR activities such as this can be undertaken in the future. Using the theme, ‘ Life is Very Meaningful' the objective of the carnival was to encourage the Malaysian society to practise healthy living as a culture, stressing on five main components which are, Eating Healthy Food, Physical Exercise and Activities, No Smoking, Inculcate Healthy Minds and Keeping Away From Alcohol.
As a joint organiser, PNS took the opportunity to be involved in several activities to promote its products and franchise business. At the PNS exhibition booth, several talks on franchise business opportunities were given to visitors. With the opportunity, a workshop on Healthy and Beautiful Senses–Forest'Secret was given with more than 200 participations. During the workshop, MyFranchise opened the opportunity to participants to become a Master Dealer and Dealer for Forest'Secret. It is hoped that CSR activities can add value to the life of every PNS staff involved and at the same time bring them closer to the local community. |
