4th August 2010 - BUSINESS TIMES PERBADANAN Nasional Bhd (PNS) has so far disbursed three quarters of the RM177 million allocated under the Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP, 2006-2010) to 28 franchisors and 483 franchisees under various franchise financing schemes. Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said RM134.4 million in loans were disbursed to 28 franchisors and RM108.7 million to 483 franchisees. "The franchise financing schemes include graduate franchise scheme, women franchise scheme, mezzanine franchise scheme, executive franchise scheme and pre-franchise scheme," Ismail Sabri told Business Times. The minister said up to June this year, 66 participants under the graduate franchise scheme and 55 participants from the women franchise schemes had opened franchise outlets with PNS-approved financing amounting to RM27.74 million.
